I, for one, am pleased that the Tarokka Deck pulls double duty. Its quality varies from uncommon to mythic with its rank. I don’t see a reason why the backings could not be distinct. Unless you know additional games that use such a deck, or unless you have access to rules for 'readings' outside of Curse of Strahd like I do, there aren't that many things that you can do with it. The backs of the Common Deck and High Deck are exactly the same, but they are meant to be kept separate in both Prophet’s Gambit and Strahd.
